It comes as a surprise to many people that you don\u2019t need lots of building work or heavy construction to have your stairlift (or chair lift) installed<\/p>\n

Why not?<\/h3>\n

Because stairlifts are installed on the tread of your stairs<\/h4>\n

You don\u2019t have to change anything about your house as your lift is perfectly crafted to fit what you already have. Your stairs are measured to the nearest millimeter. The rail your chair will travel on is designed to hug the edge of your stairs, and it won\u2019t take up more than 7.5\u201d (or 19 cm) of the width of your stairs (although this might differ on curves or if you have an obstruction).<\/p>\n

Stannah stairlifts can be fitted on any type of material<\/h4>\n

From cement to wood to metal, you won\u2019t need to alter your stairs at all. The feet of the rails are the only things that attach to your staircase, so if you decide later that you want to get rid of your lift, all you\u2019ll be left with are tiny holes on some of the steps. They\u2019re easy to cover up, even if your stairs are hardwood.<\/p>\n

On the day your stairlift is installed, there might be a little bit of dust leftover from drilling the holes, but our distributor’s experienced technicians always clean that up before they leave.<\/p>\n

Installations only take a few hours.<\/h4>\n

There won\u2019t be people traipsing in and out of your house for days on end. Straight stairlifts take only a few hours and curved stairlifts around half a day to install.<\/p>\n
